book review : A Little History Of The World

My thoughts on : A Little History Of The World

How i obtained the Book :

So recently my grandfather got me this book to read, i saw it at a book store and was intrigued by its titled and illustrations, my grandfather saw this and offered to buy the book for me. Of course i immediately accepted his offer and brought home the book.

A Little History Of The World and it's contents :

Let me explain the book and the story it conveys. now you may have wondered why the book is titled "A Little History Of The World" its because the book tells many interesting and important events in the history of the world, it tells alot of great story's starting from the creation of the planet to the stone age to even Napoleon Bonaparte in such a way so that it all feels like one connected story, the story about earth, humanity, and its flaws.

More About "A Little History Of The World" and it's origins  :

The book and it's origins. Written by Ernst Gombrich in 1935 Vienna, Austria, when he was 26 years old. He wrote the book just for his passion and love of telling incredible stories in a way so that a normal person would understand without deeper knowledge of such subject. Now it was originally written in german but was translated to english and published in 2005.

"A Little History Of The World" :

The book first explores the birth of our planet earth, then the beginning of human civilization from the bustling streets of ancient Egypt and it's massive array of gods to Mesopotamia, and even ancient Rome. The book tells alot of niche stories too, like the invention of the alphabet and even how the names of the days in a week came to be. It dives into alot of religious theme's and stories from the perspective  of JudaismHinduismBuddhismChristianityIslam and incorporates these beliefs into a narrative of historical people and events. It explains wars, people, gods, and alot of information about the times long ago.

My Thoughts on the Book :

I loved this book, i don't regret buying this. It was such an interesting read with a bunch of information that you didn't even thought to ask. I liked that it told all the stories in a linear way but you didn't even need to remember all the dates and people involved. My favorite parts of the book was the chapter on the Roundtable and chivalrous knights of early Britain with its telling of the classic story of King Arthur and the Mage Merlin and also the comparisons and similarity of beliefs and religion, seemingly being tied back to one origin, well we might never know. But that was my thoughts on the book, overall i really enjoyed this and i would advise you to read this book. That was all from me, thanks for reading this book review see ya.
